Sprawling complex featuring all sorts of rides for children and adults. There are also many games, some more permanent than temporary. The carnies are friendly and helpful. Huge parking lot, so if you arrive late, then expect a long walk to the fairgrounds unless you can catch one of the "truck taxis" which whisks visitors to and fro. Bathrooms clean and sizable. For 2021's county fair, the Ulster County Libertarian Party erected a stall.
Free parking, pay one price for admission and ride all the rides as many times as you want. I went on opening night a lot of people long lines for the rides. I suggest pay extra money option for faster way to get on the rides little faster. Food was great. Make sure to drop by the 4H building for a homemade milk shake, best corn on the cob you ever tasted.
Great fairgrounds where many other events take place throughout the year. The county fair is very affordable, just the right size for a few hours of fun, and has plenty to do.
I especially enjoyed the old steam equipment and machinery. The planer was great and the hay baler sent me right down memory lane. Actually got to see them operate... Fantastic !
I brought my granddaughter there. I always enjoyed the fair when I was younger. That particular day it poured and everything was just covered in mud, but she enjoyed every bit of it.
Great county fair! The fairgrounds hold other events year round. Nice peaceful place to walk or ride a bike and take in the scenery when events are not occurring.
I'm giving it 2 stars because of the awful parking in 2023. One lane in. One lane out. No one directing traffic in the parking lot. When our car finally made it to the exit, we were made to go in the opposite direction of where we wanted to go. Just awful. Whoever came up with this plan should be FIRED!
It’s been a few years since last visiting ulster county fair. One of my favorite rides was the Kamikaze and the Zipper must have gone on those rides about 15 times each every time visiting Ulster County fair. We went during the week got to park early to get on rides as many times as we could before it gotten crowded. Once it got crowded the lines would be long sometimes waiting more than 1 hour. Also liked the animals and farming set ups. Variety of vendors also got to see the products 4-H would put together. Funnel cakes and blooming onions when I had extra cash on hand to bring with me was a good occasional treat. Scrumptiously delicious! Not sure what it’s like now been several years since visiting but had huge blasts previous visits! Whoo! Yeehaw! Yeehaw!😊
